Reviews of top micom rice cooker brands and models including Zojirushi rice cooker units along with other very good fuzzy logic rice cookers from Sanyo, Panasonic, and Cuisinart.
What is a Micom Rice Cooker?
A micom cooker (or fuzzy logic) is any rice cooker that has an internal monitoring computer that will “pay attention” to the cooking process resulting in a much higher quality batch of rice…especially when cooking brown rice.
Micom cookers also offer folks several specific rice settings which are usually white rice, brown rice, mixed rice, sushi, or sweet (other varieties may be present depending on unit).

Zojirushi Rice Cookers
Zojirushi manufactures some of the best micom cookers on the market and offer a nice line of very good rice cooker products from IH pressure cooking units, to basic entry-level fuzzy logic cookers.
Zojirushi cookers can range in medium-high price depending on model and/or benefits & features that all make excellent quality rice.
Although most do not offer any additional settings such as steaming or slow cooking, they are some of the best and well-known rice cookers available. For a look at some recommended models, see below.

Sanyo Rice Cookers
Like Zojirushi, a Sanyo micom rice cooker is another good brand to consider as they too use advanced fuzzy logic monitoring technology and turn out very high quality rice with great texture and consistency.
Some Sanyo models even offer the user additional benefits such as vegetable steaming and slow cooking features making them a great multi-tasking appliance…all at a reasonable price.
While it is true that the higher end IH and pressure cooking Zojirushi cookers offer a tad more in overall rice quality, a Sanyo rice cooker still remains a very good choice for folks who seek above standard quality, performance, ease of use, and consistent cooking.
Some of the better Sanyo models we currently recommend those researching are:
Sanyo ECJ-HC100S (10 Cup Capacity)
Sanyo ECJ-HC55S (5.5 Cup Capacity)
Sanyo ECJ-S35K (3 Cup Capacity)
Panasonic Rice Cookers
Panasonic has also invested in the fuzzy logic rice cooker market and also puts out some fine units that give Zojirushi and Sanyo good competition using monitoring technology that adjusts cooking time and temperature when in operation.
Panasonic micom rice cookers deliver the same white rice and brown rice quality results the Sanyo and Zojirushi NS series cookers prepare and remain priced for around the same.
Newer model cookers also allow folks a slow cooking option.
If folks prefer to have Panasonic as their brand then checking out the below units is a good place to continue your research.
Panasonic SR-MS102 (5 Cup Capacity)
Panasonic SR-MS182 (10 Cup Capacity)
Panasonic SR-DE102 (5 Cup Capacity)
We also would like to add that Cuisinart just recently came out with a very good fuzzy logic rice cooker as well that makes great rice, steams, and slow cooks. This model is the Cuisinart FRC-800.
This concludes our micom rice cooker page as we hoped it helped folks find a more reliable fuzzy logic micro-computerized unit that will go beyond the standards of their old one-lever basic cooker!
