Panasonic SR-NA10 Review

Panasonic SR-NA10 Fuzzy Logic Rice Cooker

Price Range: Moderate

Rice Quality: Very Good

Benefits & Features: Several

Performance: Good

Pros vs. Cons: Pros Outweigh Cons
Overall Rating: Very Good

This Panasonic SR-NA10 model is almost like the Zojirushi NS-ZCC10’s twin brother, only at a lower price!

Based on our research, a majority of folks who own this Panasonic Fuzzy Logic rice cooker are pleased with its easy operation, multiple benefits, and ability to maintain rice consistency each and every time.

Perfect Brown Rice – But is There a Catch?

Well, that depends on if you want to wait 2 hours for it to cook, and then another 10 minutes or so for it to simmer in warm mode (which makes the rice more fluffy). To counter that, like the Zojirushi rice cooker model, the Panasonic SR-NA10 comes with a programmable timer so that folks have the option to set a start time.

This along with a generous 24 hour keep warm mode makes up for the long cooking time.

That’s right! Program it in the morning and when you return from work, your rice is already cooked, warm, and ready to eat.

About Its “Fuzzy Logic” Benefit

As mentioned on other pages, Fuzzy Logic is an internal technology that monitors how your rice is cooking. That means this model will automatically adjust temperature and cooking time giving the user a perfect bowl of moist rice. Seldom will rice come out hard or soggy with this unit!

The Panasonic SR-NA10 also provides folks the option to select, white, brown, or sushi rice, along with other varieties with the press of a button. Its large LCD display panel is easy to read and has a back light for when the room is dim.

The unit comes with a non-stick bowl, rice scoop with side holder, steaming tray, and manual. It can prepare up to 16 cups of cooked white rice. Expect a bit less for brown rice.

  • basic white color will fit most kitchens
  • offers 8 different settings, 6 for rice types, 1 for steaming vegetables, 1 for sponge cake
  • cooks consistent moist and fluffy rice
  • easy clean up when finished
  • plastic steaming basket will not scratch cooking pan and is dishwasher safe
  • retractable cord for easy storage

  • internal battery requires replacement (more below)
  • long cooking time, approx. 2 hours for brown rice, 1 hour for white rice
  • some folks state the manual is confusing
  • inner bowl prone to easy scratching (use plastic rice paddles only!)

About the Battery Replacement:

After about 3 to 4 years, depending on usage, the internal battery will need to be replaced. As with the Zojirushi model, we are confused on why this process is so complicated…that being the rice cooker needs to be taken to an authorized dealer, or shipped out.

Why both Panasonic and Zojirushi don’t allow for folks to simply buy the replacement battery and do it themselves is a mystery.

The Panasonic SR-NA10 is a great little rice cooker which is definitely worth the price for all it offers, but it does come with that small inconvenience!

As we stated on the Zojirushi ZCC10 page, “a small price to pay for years of great consistent rice”? However, overall, we recommend this unit!
