Panasonic 3 Cup Rice Cooker

Panasonic 3 Cup Rice Cooker

Currently, there is only one Panasonic 3 cup rice cooker that we have come across. All the other models put out by Panasonic are either 5.5 or larger 10 cup capacity cookers.

Below is the 3 cup rice cooker and an even smaller model which folks may find to their liking as well.

(model list subject to change as updates & new units become available)

Panasonic SR-G06FG 3 Cup Rice Cooker

This small Panasonic rice cooker is a fair buy with only a few cons showing up during our research, and currently holds on to a 4 Star customer review rating on Amazon.com.

This Panasonic 3 cup rice cooker is very affordable, is easy to use, and will prepare average standard quality white and brown rice with just the simple push of a lever. Although this cooker has a 3 cup capacity, it will yield around 9 cups of cooked white rice…a little less for brown rice since it requires more water per cup.

Also keep in mind that there will be more of a learning when cooking brown rice for obtaining desired rice texture.

The inner bowl is non stick and easy to clean, and from what we understand there is a keep warm mode. However, the Panasonic SR-G06FG does not have a “keep warm” indicator light on the unit so we are not 100 percent sure if it just shuts off completely or keeps the rice warm.

A few cons to mention is that many folks report boil over issues along with rice crusting on the bottom, but these are common occurrences with all rice cookers of this build. (Tip: use foil as a temporary lid when cooking to help avoid starchy spill over.)

For what is priced at along with the ease of use and basic design, it is a fair choice for making that occasional batch of white or brown rice with dinner.

Panasonic SR-3NA-S

Although this is not a 3 cup rice cooker, we figured we’d post this model since it is small and simply because the above cooker is the only Panasonic 3 cup rice cooker we have come across.

We are not 100 percent sure about the actual cup capacity, but from what we gathered, it is a 1.5 cup cooker which is good for making around 4.5 cups of cooked white rice.

This rice cooker is the perfect travel sized rice cooker and is favored among flight attendants due to is ultra compact size. It is also great for live-along chefs with very limited counter space.

The cooker not only makes decent quality rice, but can also be used to heat up soup and oatmeal. However, there is no keep warm mode or steaming tray for preparing vegetables.

For the price, it is a fair buy for those who prefer a very small rice cooker…possibly the smallest on the market.
